Saturday, May 03, 2008 Final Five Regional Champs Join America's Fastest Chihuahuas
It was down the final five Saturday when the PETCO Unleashed Chihuahua races moved into the final round of regional contests.
More than 1,100 tiny racers showed their might in doggie derbies this weekend and five new – and old – champs joined the pack of the country's fastest pint-sized competitors.
The 2007 National Champion, Maddy of Manhattan, will be returning to San Diego this summer to defend her title. The other four pint-sized champions who qualified for the national finals Saturday were Cuppycake from Mashpee, Mass., Chloe from Palo Alto, Calif., Mia from Elizabeth, Colo., and Puka from La Mesa, Calif.
