PETCO.com launches the "12 Days of PETCO" tomorrow, Dec. 1, offering holiday shoppers two exclusive deals each day through Dec. 12.

Thursday, November 29, 2007 Photos with Santa at PETCO
On Dec. 8, PETCO stores nationwide will host Photos with Santa. The event, sponsored by Pet Promise, will help raise funds for pets in need.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., customers visiting PETCO will have the opportunity to have their pet's photo taken with Santa for $6.95. All participating customers will receive a commemorative photo and frame. Five dollars from each photo will be donated by PETCO and the PETCO Foundation to a local animal welfare organization.
This is going to be such a fun event. I am definitely taking my dog Parker. I think I will have him wear the PETCO "Define Naughty" Holiday T-Shirt. It is so cute and he is definitely naughty sometimes! On top of raising money through Photos with Santa, all PETCO stores and PETCO.com are raising money for the PETCO Foundation's Tree of Hope fundraiser. Last year PETCO stores raised more than $2.7 million! The proceeds go to benefit local pet adoption group.

Wednesday, November 28, 2007 PETCO Stars Winner, Toula, Goes to LA
We just received this from Christine, owner of Toula, America's Most Talented Pet:
On Nov. 10, my husband Billy and I flew from Michigan to California with our dog Toula, America's Most Talented pet. Toula was the grand prize winner of the PETCO Stars and her prize was a trip out to Los Angeles for a photo shoot and an opportunity to be featured in PETCO advertising.
Our trip was fantastic and with it, I have many wonderful memories that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Our flight on American Airlines was successful and Toula did great traveling right next to me on the plane. Our hotel room at the Sheraton Universal was great and the concierge took customer service to a new level; he was so helpful. They truly are a dog-friendly hotel.
On Monday, Nov. 12, a limo arrived to pick us up at the hotel and take us to the photo shoot; we were treated like true celebrities. Toula seemed to enjoy the luxury and we were able to relax and enjoy the ride.
Rick PETCO's Art Director, greeted us and made us feel so special and was so kind to Toula. He made the photo shoot fun and I appreciate the opportunity to have been able to work with him. The photographers were absolutely a joy to work with as well.
As the grand prize winner and proud owner of Toula, America's Most Talented Pet, I send a very special thank you to you and every person that made this contest possible.
Congratulations Toula, Christine, and Billy. We are so glad that you had a blast in LA!

To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, PETCO is offering a 10 percent discount on all turkey flavored dog and cat food sold in stores and on PETCO.com, including nearly 200 items across 15 brands.
This is just a fun way for pet parents to include their pets in Thanksgiving festivities at their home. I know I will be buying some "turkey" for my pooch.

Tuesday, November 13, 2007 Finding Fisher
This is a story about a lost dog -- Fisher. We found him wandering a church parking lot next to our store a couple of weeks ago. After we brought him into the store, he had a seizure. I immediately ran him up to our vet's office, where they did blood work on him. Everything came back normal; they said he was probably epileptic. We called the SPCA to come for him, but I decided to keep him at my house for a few days to give the owner a chance to find him. He looked young and had nail polish on one of his toes, but no tags or collar. One of our groomers, took pictures of him and made up flyers that we posted all around the neighborhood and I called the two SPCA's to file a report and print an ad in the paper.
He had never been around cats it seemed, so he had a great time chasing mine and investigating the other pets. He was 24-hour non-stop energy.
I had him from Tuesday night until Friday, when his owner called me around 3 p.m. to say that she saw my ad in the paper and thought it might be her dog. His name was "Fisher" and he was about five.
I took him back home that evening. His mom told me that he escaped while the gardeners were mowing the lawn. He had to cross seven lanes of traffic to make it to our store -- he was a very lucky dog. I told her about the vet thinking he might have epilepsy so she promised to have her vet check him out.
She called me later to thank us at the for finding and taking care of him. I told her everyone at the store was thrilled that we had reunited them. I told her that all of us would hope someone would do the same thing if one of our pets had gotten out.
She is going to be bringing him back to visit all of us here soon.
It was a great happy ending for everyone involved.

Fashion-forward pets will take to the runway at PETCO's Fall Fashion Show, Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in PETCO stores nationwide.
During the event, pets dressed to impress will strut down PETCO's catwalk, showing off the latest fall fashions. Customers can bring their favorite outfits from home or shop DC, PETCO's exclusive line of the highest fashion for your pet, available at all PETCO stores and PETCO.com. Prizes will be awarded for "Best in Show" and "Best in Show -- PETCO Apparel."
The first 20 pet fashionistas will receive a free Pup-arazzi photo in a special frame and chic canines will be treated to hors d'oeuvres, courtesy of the event's sponsor, Natural Balance.
Customers visiting PETCO Nov. 17th and 18th will receive 25 percent off all DC apparel fashion carriers and collars.
--The American Pet Product Manufacturers Association (APPMA) says 46 percent of dog owners purchased clothes for their dog during the last 12 months.
--More than 13,000 pets made their way to PETCO last March for the company's spring pet fashion show, including cats, ferrets, rabbits, reptiles and even some pot-bellied pigs.

My chiropractor's receptionist called me this morning to tell me how appreciative she was for the help PETCO gave not only her, but the thousands of pet parents who had been evacuated and went to Qualcomm Stadium during the fires. While she had most of the items she needed to take care of her four dogs, she said many did not and that PETCO was there for them. She not only was touched by the fact that PETCO was there, but also the proactive effort our associates made to approach people to give them advise and to express their care in addition to giving them the products they needed.
She will be a PETCO ambassador as well as a customer for life.
There are so many stories like this out there, but her feelings she has toward PETCO now, because of our associates' passion touched me and I wanted to share that with you.
